TMA President and Chair Author Article Promoting Team-Based Care

There has been significant discussion in Tennessee over the past few years about expanding the role of advanced practice registered nurses to fill gaps in health care access. This summer, yet another study will occur with the legislature on this topic. TMA President Dr. Ronald Kirkland and TMA Board Chair Dr. Jamie Cates articulate the value to Tennesseeans’ health by maintaining the team-based approach that exists in our state. They give particular focus to the argument that removing this approach will not increase access to care for rural communities as argued from other lobbying organizations.
