New Employee Spotlight: Welcome, Rana!

The Board and Staff members of the Memphis Medical Society are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our team, Rana Ragland, who is taking on the role of Executive Administrative Assistant. Rana brings with her a wealth of experience and a commitment to excellence, making her an invaluable asset to our organization. Rana will be the backbone of our Board and team, ensuring seamless communication, coordination, and execution of day-to-day operations. Welcome to the team, Rana!

Name: Rana Ragland

Hometown: West Memphis, Ark.

Family and pets: I have a 4-year-old son, Kai. He is the sweetest kid with such a huge personality. We also have a 5-year-old husky, Paisley. She’s sweet but sassy and brings us a lot of entertainment.

Life outside of work: I love doing outdoor activities, like swimming or canoeing when I’m able to. I love traveling as well!

Professional Experience: This is my first professional position. I just recently graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Healthcare Leadership. I did my internship here at Memphis Medical Society and it was a great opportunity for me to learn firsthand about the organization and members.

What are you most excited about in this role? I’m very excited to be able to bring support to the team and assist in project management. I’m excited to be able to assist all entities of the Society and help the team with any support they need.

What new or improved aspects do you hope to bring to your program? I hope to provide support to the staff by making a more unified work environment for them. I hope to support the relationship with our members and our organization.

What is something you want everyone to know about you? I take pride in being goal-driven and having a good work ethic. I’m always focused on reaching short-term and/or long-term goals while continuing to make new ones. I’m a very time sensitive person, so I think it’s important to continue reaching goals and bettering yourself in the process while you can.

What is an unusual fact about yourself? I competed in gymnastics for a couple years when I was younger.
