Jimmie Mancell, MD
Dr. Mancell recently served as Interim President at Methodist University Hospital, while remaining in his role of the Chief of Medicine and the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs representing the multi-specialty academic faculty practice to the Methodist healthcare system and for the University of Tennessee. He has also been elected President and Chief of Staff for the Methodist healthcare medical staff of more than 2,400 clinicians. He continues as a physician board member on the Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare Board of Directors serving on the finance committee and the quality committee of the Board. A recent graduate of the Physician Leadership Academy, he is Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Tennessee and chair of the graduate medical education oversight committee responsible for the supervision of the medical students, residents, and fellows training at Methodist University Hospital. For the past 17 seasons, Mancell has been a team physician for the Memphis Grizzlies. After three years on the board of the Memphis Medical Society, he steps into the President’s seat in 2019.
