Drinks with Docs in the District

On a Thursday evening in February, the Memphis Medical Society partnered with Memphis Medical District Collaborative to host Drinks with Docs in the District at High Cotton Brewery and Edge Alley. Invitations went out to area residents and Society members. Edge Alley prepared a beautiful spread of hors d’ourvres with High Cotton beer flowing.

Two dozen residents mingled at the event in High Cotton’s private party room with its wall of windows into the brewery. The event’s intent was to offer a relaxing atmosphere for residents to network, enjoy themselves, as well, as introduce them to the two support organizations hosting the event.

This event was the first in a series of resident-focused activities that The Memphis Medical Society has created in an effort to get to know residents better and to get them involved with the Society, their physician membership, and the future of Memphis. Memphis Medical Society is a non-profit organization uniting and supporting the physicians on Shelby County.

Memphis Medical District Collaborative is a community development organization working with partners to strengthen the communities in the Memphis Medical District so that they are more livable, vibrant, and safe.
