About Me
I am a medical oncologist and hematologist at the West Cancer Center and Research Institute. While I have a special interest in endocrine, neuroendocrine, and central nervous system tumors, I care for patients with a variety of hematological and oncological issues. I chose to become a hematologist/oncologist in order to personally join in on the fight against cancer after being touched by it twice during my educational career. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer during my medical residency and my mother is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. While I am happy to be among the many who can proudly say they have beaten cancer, I understand firsthand the apprehension that comes with such a diagnosis. I know all too well the fear, confusion, and even depression that can come with each new test result or change in therapy. At the same time, I have also seen and experienced the joy that results from successful treatment. With this awareness and passion as my driving force, I have dedicated myself to staying on the forefront of cancer treatment advancements through continuing education and research, and I strive to make my patients’ journey through cancer treatment as smooth and successful as possible.
