Craig Thiessen, MD
Dr. Craig Thiessen recently joined Eye Specialty Group as a cataract and refractive surgeon. He is a native Memphian, grew up in Germantown, and graduated from Houston High School. After finishing his undergraduate degree at Samford University, he returned to attend the University Of Tennessee College Of Medicine, and afterward completed his ophthalmology residency at the Hamilton Eye Institute.
Dr. Thiessen is passionate about vision health and strives to provide high quality eye care for the city in which he grew up. He will perform traditional and laser assisted cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, and refractive surgery including LASIK.
Dr. Thiessen and his wife Alli, a nurse at the CVICU at Lebonheur Children’s Hospital, and their two children Thatcher and Iris keep them busy when not at work. He is honored to practice in Memphis, his hometown, and looks forward to serving the community for the years to come.
