Dr. Thompson is a native of Montgomery, Alabama. He graduated with honors from Auburn University and received his M.D. degree from the University of South Alabama. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Thompson is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Dr. Thompson and his wife, Kelly, live in Memphis with their three children, Georgia, Meredith and Wynn. He enjoys traveling and being with his family during his spare time.
